Insider Guide to Cairns - 6 Local Tips from Cairns Jet Boat Bad Fishy
Often seen spinning around Cairns Trinity Inlet, Captain Pat is in command of the unmistakable (and unmissable) Bad Fishy, Jet Boat company.
When he's not on the boat he's still busy! Pat teaches at The International Maritime College and Nikki (his wife) keeps busy with local Sales and Marketing. They are Mum and Dad to 3 little tackers, so when they get a break they enjoy exploring the great TNQ outdoors with them!
1. So WHY Cairns?
We love the warmth of the climate and the people. It’s great to enjoy this region with our kids, let them play in creeks, climb mountains, play in the mud and explore The Great Barrier Reef.
2. So WHERE's the Best Coffee?
Oohhh.....very hard as there are lots of great coffee spots but we did have a beautiful coffee at The Candy Café last Friday.
3. Your Favourite FOOD Spots?
Rattle’N’Hum for a pizza, Noa in Edge Hill for some Tapas, Thai Coins for an awesome takeaway, Bushman Pies for a snack and Rusty’s Markets for our home kitchen.
4. Best LOCAL Secret?
Stoney Creek for the day is awesome! When there hasn’t been much rain it’s great for little kids and the walking tracks are a good challenge too.
5. Must DO Activity?
Climb Walsh’s Pyramid. This was an epic adventure and it was such a high to achieve getting to the summit. We have done it a few times and have some tips; start early, take lots of iced water, wear excellent shoes and do it when the weather is dry and cool.
6. If money is no object?
Travel, travel, travel, travel, travel……..everywhere!
SO, THANKS for checking out our first Insider Guide on TNQ and you heard it straight from the local's mouth - Nikki & Pat from Bad Fishy
According to them the more you see of Cairns the more you'll love it. And you don't always need to take your wallet to enjoy a good day out!!
ENJOY!!
