Spirit of Cairns Dinner Cruise - Family Friendly Dining

There’s nothing like getting out on the water to get a  view of the town you may be visiting.

Spirit of Cairns Dinner Cruise allows you to do that, cruising up and down Trinity Inlet you get great views back towards the City of Cairns. But let’s not forget the real reason you’re here – the food!!

Great views of Cairns from the boat

Spirit of Cairns is known for their buffet and it didn’t disappoint. We bought along two teenage boys that took full advantage of the spread in front of them and seconds were de rigour. There was antipasto, Chickpea and Asian Slaw salads and then the mains, Crispy Pork Belly, Barramundi and Tortellini, Butter Chicken and Salt and Pepper Squid.

Not forgetting of course the prawns and oysters.

Meanwhile in the background we had entertainment which provided a steady stream of live music all nightlong. It helped create a party like atmosphere onboard with a bunch of people celebrating Birthdays and Anniversaries.

Unfortunately it had been raining so there was no dining on the deck for us this time arounds. But the night views were sublime with the water reflecting the city lights.

Dessert was of course mandatory and the boys filled their plates yet again, despite getting Freak Shakes earlier in the night. For me the Tiramisu was the highlight, the coffee flavour mixed with nuts not overly sweet. And just when you thought you'd had enough the cheese board came out to tempt you again.....

Of course I could fit in a few slices of cheese!!

At 9pm we pulled into dock. Two and a half hours cruising and feasting we managed to spill out onto the marina and thank the staff at Spirit of Cairns for a wonderful evening.
