The Best 3 Family-Friendly Things to Do in Cairns
It’s time to share the BEST of the BEST!
I’ve been showcasing via my Instagram account, the top 3 family-friendly things to do in my corner of Australia, Tropical North Queensland. Kidspot, Australia’s biggest online parenting site has been running a competition to put online creatives like myself ‘on the Map’ and I want to share my entry here….
1. Visit the Great Barrier Reef
Our corner of Australia is pretty special when it comes to showing your children the ‘magic’ of the underwater world.
WHY the Great Barrier Reef?
Well it pretty much sits on our doorstep, the sea temperatures are mild, the range of reef experiences are many (and will suit pretty much everybody’s needs) and attention to safety is the Number One priority amongst our tour operators.
If you’re going to experience the ‘reef’ with your family, this is seriously the BEST spot to do it.
Here are some of our TOP family experiences that I have shared so far (Click on them to READ the Full story):

2. Visit World Heritage Rainforest
Wandering through vegetation that dinosaurs once roamed is pretty special in anyone’s eyes. The trick with kids however, is getting them to understand how special this environment is. Fortunately, in Tropical North Queensland there is a rainforest experience for every age and adventure type.
Although our kids don’t mind ‘trekking’ through the rainforest undergrowth on a family hike, they particularly love the organized tours they have experienced so far (Click on them to READ the Full story):

3. Experience a Freshwater Escape
Escaping to one of the many freshwater swimming holes around Cairns is a family favourite during our hot and sticky tropical summers. Cool, refreshing and bordered by rainforest these rivers and creeks create the perfect escape from the heat and humidity of the wet season.

As you’ve probably guessed, for our family it’s all about being outdoors, living life to its fullest and making memories in our corner of Australia. I suggest you and your family pay Tropical North Queensland a visit soon and do the same…… ;) AND if my Top 3 Family-Favourite Things to do in Cairns haven't convinced you yet to book a ticket to Tropical North Queensland then you need to check out my List of 6 FREE Ideas for Family Fun! after all, most of us parents are happy to save a few $$$ when out and about with our kids.
